She Climbs Mountains is a wonderful Twin Cities non-profit serving adult women and girls who have experienced mother loss through death at any age.

I was honored to be a guest columnist/weekly feature around the two-year anniversary of my own mom’s death.

In my story, I shared a powerful depiction of the relentless grip of addiction on my mom, along with the impact her death had on my own journey. The privilege of creating a vulnerable, accessible way for others to process similar grief made this some of the most rewarding writing I’ve done to-date.

My story is the conduit to many others who are also processing a death from this horrific and often stigmatized disease.
