I want everything we do together to feel fun, flexible and “no pressure”. It should feel like one of the “lightest” parts of your event planning process—like making a friend and collaborating together!

Here’s a snapshot of my typical process (including payments)—please know these are just general guidelines. Tailoring the experience for your needs and timeline is very important to me!

My floral design process

  • I’ll set up 30 minutes to meet each other virtually, discuss your dreams, and decide how to proceed. All consultations are free and there is no obligation to work with me! I want to make sure you’re happy (and I realize sometimes that means you may choose someone else).

  • During one of my favorite parts of the process, I’ll spend time getting to know you (+ your partner), your personalities, wishes, dreams, likes/dislikes, project/event details and any theme ideas you already have. The more information you provide (even if it’s the things you definitely don’t want!) the more successful the final result.

I define the final “result” as way more than being satisfied with tangible floral arrangements. To me, a successful final result is defined by how you and your guests feel in (and about) the total space and moment in time.

If you don’t have theme idea(s), don’t worry! I’ll work with you to create and propose one you’ll love. This is one of the things that sets me apart from other florists.

  • (Optional add-on if you don’t have a theme or need theme development)

I’ll take the unique insights from our discovery session and turn them into our inspirational “North Star”.

Full of guiding textures, colors, scrap photography and even real flower options, the Mood Board serves as a tool for creative alignment on the overarching look & feel of your special day. The color palette will illustrate 2-3 hero colors, and 3-4 accent colors in complementary tones.

If you’re early in the process, both of these tools are essential for guiding other decisions — like attire, cake/dessert design, venue, invites/RSVP design, your website—and even food!

(If you already have colors picked out, great! I can work with them and/or develop them further with secondary accents.)

  • Once we’ve completed intake and/or you’ve approved the overarching creative vision, we’ll stay in contact via email and phone calls/texts as the details of your big day unfold. I’m very flexible and open to changes along the way! However and whenever you need to reach out, I’m accessible.

I’ll be a thought partner for you regarding styling, lighting, and space questions/concerns and ensure you feel good about the close-to-final plan.

  • About a month before your event, we’ll touch base again to review your final list of design elements. For example, the number of bouquets, boutonnieres, table arrangements, statement planters, etc.

I’ll use this list to inform the flower & supplies order.

  • About 2-3 weeks before your event date, I’ll estimate the wholesale flower order (+ any styling supplies like vases, planters, etc.). You will receive an estimate for all items/costs to approve before anything is purchased.

Two weeks before your event date, 50% of this total purchase amount is due as a deposit for/commitment to my work.

  • And now it’s getting real!

I’ll place your flower order with one of my wholesale partners based on your unique style & design requirements.

Please note: sometimes color shifts, seasonality, and out of stocks occur after I place an order. If anything arrives different than what we’ve expected (ex: color), I’ll text you an update and make sure you are aware/aligned on the go-ahead plan.

  • Most florists do a quick drop-off/hand-off. But that’s not how I work.

I’ll arrive at your venue on-time, with all arrangements, supplies and styling accents all ready to go.

I’ll set table arrangements, deliver the bridal bouquet, make sure all of the corsages & boutonnieres are on correctly, and will stick around to make sure everyone has what they need.

I’m a total team player and happy to lend a hand wherever your staff, family or vendors need it!

  • I’ll bill you for the remaining 50% of the total cost of all flowers & supplies a few days after your event. Payment is due within 30 days.

Let’s create.
